The necessity for the Toowoomba bypass

The Toowoomba Bypass is an infrastructure project that will divert traffic around and to the north of Toowoomba. The bypass will be approximately 42Km in length.

Toowoomba is a central hub for the Darling Downs and surrounding areas. At present, the Warrego Highway which passes through Toowoomba is the main channel for heavy vehicles. As the Toowoomba and region population increases, so to is the amount of traffic passing through Toowoomba.

This impacts on both the residents of Toowoomba and to travelers passing through Toowoomba. The benefit of the bypass will be increased safety for both residents & travelers, and will serve as an infrastructure upgrade to cope with future population increase as the city and region grows.
